DUST’s new back room will present works for sale by established contemporary artists. DUST’s inaugural exhibition at its new Las Vegas Blvd. home is entitled Unknown and presents new work by New York artist Marietta Hoferer . Unknown is on display from February 8 – March 23, 2008. Hoferer is known for her intricately structured drawings made by small hand-cut pieces of clear tape affixed over a penciled grid on paper. Light plays over the semi-translucent tape causing shapes to appear, shimmer and dissolve. An exhibition catalog, produced by Dust with an essay by Brian Young, Curator, Academy Art Museum in Easton , MD accompanies the exhibition. Hoferer has exhibited worldwide and is included in the collections of the Bellagio, Las Vegas , Nevada , the Bush-Reisinger Museum at Harvard University , Cambridge , Massachusetts and Zurich Capital Markets, New York , New York among many others. |
